Road course track fees

Just wondering what other people are paying at their local track. Basically in Austin there are two options that I know of. Links below. Outside of town in San Marcos we have Harris Hill. They have a membership setup with a one time deposit in the $2500 range with a monthly fee of $180. This gives you almost unlimited access aside from when they are closed and or doing some class. The other place is The Driveway Austin, similar setup and pay scale.

What do you guys pay?

Nurburgring's pass doesn't cover the track days with no bikes and the full straight. They range from 500€ for a full day (open pit) or 280 for a half day.
That's the same price for spa francorchamps as well (approx.) where the usual track day consists of 6 30min runs.
In italy it ranges from 30€\20mins for the small tracks to 300 or so€for open pits through pistenclub.de

figure roughly $100/hr - if you're under you're doing good, if over it better be a very nice unique track and very limited traffic / cars or very good competition depending on what you're looking for.

I almost always run with NASA-TX fwiw - I like having a variety of tracks, prices are reasonable, and there's usually some good competition in the Time Trials and racing groups. The new mgt is really making things even better than they were before too

High Plains here in Denver has open track days quite often, and last I checked is was $100 for a half day, bit more for the full day. Renting the track is an expensive option though, which is unfortunate.

Check with your local Porsche Club of America and BMW club. Up here, there are a few of them that host 2 and 3 day HPDE's at Mid Ohio and Putnam Park for $250 to $400 for the weekend. Usually you'll end up with at least four 20 minute sessions a day.

Here in Kansas we don't have much in selection, Heartland park in Topeka Ks which runs HPDE on wed nites or Hallett in Okla on the weekends. Both are 120 miles away from us.
We run the Hallett track, Sat or Sun is 90 dollars a day. Five 20 or 25 min runs in a day with semi pro racing in between. Averages about 80 to 90 track miles each day. While it's not the best track as far as pavement goes, lottsa good competition and friendly ppl. Cheap after seeing what other tracks charge and I sure am jealous after seeing the tracks yall have on the east, west and south coasts.

I don't pay anything for my track days, but it is typically $130 - $160 a day for four 20 minute sessions on any of the area's 6 road courses through NASA, PASA or SCCA.
SpeedVentures and the other Cali organizations are similar if I want to extend that list by 5 - 9 hours of driving to and from and another 6 road courses.

Sure you do. You just pay with time instead of money. I pay for mine with time too.

Here in the Mid-Atlantic, we're pushing $195+ per day for two-day events, though we typically get four 30-minute sessions. Single-day events are $250.

True, though I honestly have a hard time calling my responsibilities at the track "work"!

Spence, driveway Austin is great and very reasonably priced once you complete the different classes. It is also a great track, I can't wait to get back out in the coming months. At first you will think the sessions are short but trust me, they are hard on the car so you won't be doing as many sessions as you think you will. For info on Harris Hill, PM REDRX3RX8, he runs there a few times a year. But Harris hill is a little too rich for my blood.

Thanks 9k. I was assuming that the L1,L2, and L3 were licenses through them that you had to complete before you went out to the open track runs. The more you have the cheaper it becomes I am guessing based off the site.

From what I understand Harris is the better choice but yes it is a little more "exclusive".

Let me know when you plan on returning to the driveway. I'm defiantly interested! Perhaps with some heavy weight reduction, we can get Canary out there as well. Might have to take the rotating ball out for like... balance and stuff...

I don't know if I'd call Harris Hill "exclusive" unless you're counting the Bmw and Porsche parade.

Last time, Feb 19th, 3 GTR's showed up, and it was the first rain I've ever tracked on which made everyone really learn to drive.

Velocity Adventure's runs a few track days a year for $165, and 4 - 20 minute sessions.

The course is very good to make the high horse guys learn their suspension instead of straight line traction.

I'd like to run Driveway Austin if I can get on the course for one day at $200 or less.

The one thing we do like about the crappy course we run on bro, short straights. Barb likes to take off last with the hi HP boys in front, Z01, Z06, Mustang GT 500, takes em 4 to 5 laps to lap her cuz none of em take corners for ****. POS lil stock 6spd auto RX8 and a mere gurl driving. At the last run in 2010 the best a slightly modded MT 8 could do is 4 seconds faster than her on a 2 mile track. Long Live the AUTO.

I like running with Shelby Mustangs with 500 something horses.

If I really nail my laps right I can keep them off me.

Of course when they finally get it, they get up front as they should, since I've got a 07 6spd auto, too.

Check for Porsche Club of America Events. They are usually in the $250 range and will get you started with an instructor as well. Some are better than others. The fun part is passing all the Porsches.

I stick with my usual $295 (total) for a 2 day HPDE event which is held around my area often. Includes classroom time and of course, 8 - twenty minute sessions with an experienced instructor.

I've been doing this consistently for about a solid year now, and I plan to keep it up.

Eventually, I hope to sign for an annual membership. For now, I need as much education as possible. I suppose I'll take my time on the 'education' aspect, for sure.
