Heading over to NJMP for a test-n-tune on Friday and a Time Trial Saturday.

Has anyone run the Lightning Course yet? Any pointers would be appreciated.

I hope to be there in a couple weeks with the Porsche Club. Looks to be an awesome new track. Be great to see some more RX-8s there, our cars are surprisingly competitive with a good number of Porsche cars and drivers, and they're great guys to track with

It was an excellent weekend on the Lightning course. The 275-40-17 Hankook Z214's worked great. I turned a 117.40 sec lap in ST2 @ the Time Trial which should be good for 2nd in class and in top ten overall, waiting for results. I believe the 1st Place Porsche 911 beat me by only 0.02 seconds.

The track is excellent I definitely recommend it to everyone. We had 345 cars on Friday for the Test-n-Tune/HPDE and 200+ for the Time Trial/HPDE on Saturday. Can't wait to try out the Thunderbolt course in September!

Cool! So far only 78 cars registered for the upcoming 3 day Aug 2,3,4 the NJMP event...so looks like tons of uncrowded track time. Anyone else interested just use the link above to register, no need to be a Porsche member so nothing but the track fee.

Thanks for the info. I'll be there this Sunday for the charity event... 15 to 20 minutes of lap time for $25 donation.

How many cars would run the track at a time? I counted 8 green and 7 yellow drivers.

20 or 30 easily. If that's all that's there, it'll almost be like running alone. Good deal!

Which Porsche Club are you running with? I looked at PCA NCR and their DE rules seemed to state "Porsche only."

Interesting that...as I have been told, generally Porsche Clubs around the country only allow Porsches. That however flies in the face of the odd BMW, Ferrari, Subaru, Mustang, Mazda, etc that regularly show up on the rosters, at least in the NE region.

Few years ago I got tired of the same old high priced, tuner oriented HPDEs groups and discovered the Porsche, Audi, and BMW clubs. In regards the NER Porsche club, any reasonable car is allowed, no membership, nothing special at all to attend except a willingness and very reasonable track fees. The only requirement is to have an in-car fire extinguisher.

So when the NER Porsche club goes somewhere, say, in concert with some other region's club, well, we can all come along! It makes for some great track experiences without a doubt.

I used to work corners at HPDE's for marquee clubs. They perfer that only their type of car at their event. But, they have to open it up to cut the cost of the event. Around here, the Chicago marquee clubs fill up. Milwaukee clubs open them up to outsiders. An exception to that was the Ferrari club. They didn't seem to have any problem (or money) with putting on an event.
