Worked ok when I posted it here: http://sccaforums.com/forums/1/26358...ad.aspx#263585 Must be one of those RX8club features. |
I'm glad we're not running in the morning...particularly since I'm going to KC airport to pick up my wife Wednesday night.
It should be fun...if my car is done and I can get back there in time :) |

Hmm, I guess running 4th is cool. Was hoping to catch 2nd day of SS, but might not make it as I probably won't get to HPT till 2:30ish on Wed. |
If BS can't beat CS this year, I give up on you guys!
LOL! Hey Mike! You still owe me $5. You can pay up at B-Dolls. FM |

FM I guess I'll be paying you in singles, then...:lol2: |
Darn it, BS and STU are on opposite courses again, won't be able to watch our fellow RX8's.
|
Ran the Ankeny/ProParts T&T the last two days; day and a half in the dry, rained the last half day. Grip and balance is definitely up for us over last year. The wind blew sand hard for both days, yet the site doesn't seem to have the same issue as last year with it coming up out of the surface.
Many people said running a softer setup was working best for them, but I had an opposite experience. |
Got into Topeka about 9:30pm local time. 23.5 hours door to door. :scared:
|
^ Man! Glad you made it there safe! Can't wait to get there tomorrow to watch you guys run!

It's not like last year at all. The grip for the practice courses today was phenomenal. I loosened the car up too much and had an issue on my first two runs, but it had nothing to do with sand on the surface. :dunno:
|
Were you on the right course or the left? The right course felt kinda skatey in a lot of places today, which was verified by the massive quantity of sand right off line.
|
I thought the online grip was great. We had to make some changes as our car was very tight, like it gets on concrete. Should be a lot of rubber down by thurs-fri.
btw congrats to Matthew Braun who picked up the ProSolo Championship, :banghead: I was .051 to slow, looks like he is starting to figure out how to make the RX-8 go fast. The most important part was the 245 V710 he ran. :lol2: |
where are the results for Nationals guys?

Here are the Pro Solo Finale results: http://scca.com/documents/resultfile...P%20FINALS.pdf |
good luck to all.
MP5...didn't see your name on the prosolo results...did you not run in SS? Saw some familiar names atop the leader boards. Good to see our local Cali guys doing well. |

BTW, the fastest scratch times, on both courses, were set by Hoosiers and by a large margin...:uhh: |
Who was on hoosiers and set down the fast scratch time? Are these the new hoosiers or just standard old 285s?

I can't wait, I'm driving up on in my B Stock car Wednesday. You stock car trailering fools. :) I'll probably have a blow out after saying that. :fingers crossed it doesn't happen.

I thought the on-line grip was good, but I wouldn't call it great. This surface is really weird on tires. Roberts and Carris both had some massive groove of doom on their front Hoosiers. The Kumhos didn't seem to mind, but at the same time I can't comment on the relative grip level between the two tires. Mike Eckert put down times that could have won AS on his Kumho-shod Cayman, but he was dirty and you know what they say about cones... Still, I think you're seeing more Hoosiers this year because Kumho's previous main advantage was price, and that pretty much evaporated during the summer when they jacked their prices. The Hoosiers are obviously just as fast for the 30-40 runs you get before they cord.
Personally I wasn't a fan of the Pro courses. Not exactly balanced in terms of sweepers/slaloms. But from what I heard about last year, they were a huge improvement. I still had fun even if I didn't drive well (even for me). The sand is just as bad as last year. I nearly bit it running for a cone after just the MORNING session on Friday. It's like a beach about 4" off line. Those not running first heat won't have a choice of what line they drive. Ridiculous. |
