MS Motorsports, Void your warranty?
I heard some good things about the Mazdaspeed Motorsports program and the cost savings on parts. I went to sign up and after reading some of the fine print I was a little worried about some of the wording. Basically they're trying to cover their ass so the parts have no warranty but it also says that any cars used in competition racing will have it's warranty voided. To get parts you obviously have to submit 2 results of any race each year and if you submit that you entered into a race does that mean you can kiss your warranty goodbye?
I'm wondering if you register and they have your car/make/SSN/VIN etc and the next time you go to the dealer are they going to automatically void your warranty since they have everything on file? I'd love to save some money on replacement parts/some MS mods but I'm not willing to throw away a warranty on a 6 month old RX8. |
Yes, kiss your arse goodby.

try searching, that goes for Razz too

unless they changed the registration process, when i signed up for MS Motorsport support i didn't need to provide ANY type of identification for the car, just need to specify what you are racing, and on the results you submit explicit show your name and the car you raced in and your placement in the event. nothing that can uniquely identify your car...

why don't you ask for a show of hands from those who were denied warranty work based on joining

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll go ahead and register and keep my fingers crossed. Technically if you submitted results for a race and it said 2005 Blue RX8 with your name they could easily look it up and see that you obviously have that one and only 2005 RX8 but I guess it's not something that MS motorsports and corporate communicates about.

Just use common sense when going in for warranty stuff. They get a little suspicious when you show up with your helmet on. :hahano:
