So I guess it was the brains in the family, i.e. Jennifer, who came up with #48?

JK, that is a very cool ad and will make a great framed picture to have around until you're old(er) and gray(er)...

When I had it in for the recall a few weeks ago I got a new center console and lid under warranty.

The car does not look like that when it goes to the dealer. All the stickers were just on for natls.

Other than the two recalls, console was done during the last one, it has never been in for anything. So I don't bug them they don't bug me. I also would not take it any for any "racing" related failures if I ever have one.

Did you bring the car in with the Borla and Tire Rack banner? I have to take mine in for the recall and am a little worried, seeing as it is leased. BTW, I changed the oil today for the first time (2000miles) and didn't have a oil filter wrench that would work...wtf?

No stickers.... What kind of loser drives around with a TireRack banner on when they don't have to.

Had the Borla and Konis on both times it went in.

You need the plastic one that goes over the end of the filter.

I keep the Tire Rack banner on because it's a pia to keep putting them on...of course, on the RX8 it does annoy me, so maybe I'll just get rid of it.

Mark, you've never changed the filter? How many miles? With the RX8's combustion process, I'd think you'd want to change them more often, rather than less...

I have under 5000 miles on mine, but the oilpan gets drained and refilled every 500 or less miles

I'd be having a severe internal engine issue to have compromised the oil filter at this point ...

Back in the early 90s with our first Mazda we even had a dealer that sponsored us, did all the service work for free and bought us some tires. While it does say any "competition events" I doubt that any dealer would look at an autox car and think twice. Now if you tried to bring in a T3 RX8 with full cage and stickers all over it you might have an issue.

I have also never had a problem with any of the parts sold by Mazda Comp. Some parts such as body work are considered blems and can not be put on a new production car. We bought a rear Miata bumper from them that was a blem, neither I or the body guy that painted it could find a problem with it.
