MazdaSpeed sponsorship and discounts

I have a friend who races for MazdaSpeed or is sponsored by MS not really sure how it works. He races a miata but has an rx8 as well. I was at his house the other day working on my car with him and he ordered a gasket for me that costs $51 at the dealership but only $27 through the MazdaSpeed prices he gets.

Ive been condsidering starting to learn to race and take lessons with him and all that fun stuff. So how would i get sponsored by mazdaspeed in the first place once i start racing? He is an extremely good driver so im not sure if it is just because he is so good or if everybody that races a Mazda gets the membership racing discounts with MS?

Also, what are the discounts you get? He said he can get any stock part of aftermarket MS part for any Mazda cars a lot cheaper. He told me if i needed any parts to let him know and he would buy them for me but I feel a little uncomfortable about asking him to order me some MS springs and shocks.

Thanks for the info guys.

FYI,

You can't use your mazda account for use on your own street vehicles let alone your friends. They will close your account if they suspect that you are.

Pricing is Mazda Dealer cost. Not Retail price or even wholesale price. The Mazda support in the US is awesome!

hmm well i guess he is registered for his miata and his rx8 cause he buys parts for his rx8 off there. he does race them both but i think he only tracks his 8 for fun and not competitions.

once you meet the 2 race criteria and become a member how many races do you have to compete in yearly to stay a member?

Not to be a ***** but what exactly is the purpose of this thread? A prerequisite to racing (which you state you want to do) is having the ability to figure out basic stuff like your what class you want to race in, budget, comp school - race license, the series rules, etc.

If you do your research and then still have questions I am sure most people on here will help you out.

Kinda as Chris said... the link above directed you to the following copy/paste below. Use your resources and don't be afraid to ask questions after you have honestly taken a little time to look. I don't mind helping at all but you need to try a little
