Looking for Co-drive at SCCA Nationals

Hey guys, I'm looking for a co-drive for BS in a RX-8. If any of you guys want a tire warmer (remember, late Sept can be very cool!!!) and someone to split the costs with, please PM me or email me at pilottypesh@yahoo.com. I'd really love to run in a RX-8 this year!

You forgot to mention he was in a borrowed car that he'd driven down from Chicago.

+2 on the recommended list. I'd offer you a seat, but mine is already occupied.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. :D I had a blast with all you BStockers so I'm trying to get a ride in BS before I try for anything else. My next step would be to get a ride in AS, but I don't think AS needs any more drivers.

For all you guys with an open seat, remember that ULLLOSE is a single driver with a lowish number, so if it rains beforehand, having a 1xx number would certainly give you a traction advantage! (Nothing against you Jason, but you ARE the guy to beat ) I'm also an expert with the water sprayer, so you won't have to worry about hot tires Did I mention that Nationals last year was cold??? hehehe.

I would think some of these two driver cars would start to figure it out. Two years in a row a single driver car with a low number has won. You think maybe the RX-8 and the V710s like it better cool.

RX8's don't like getting soaked with heat. Dyno tests that I did backed that up.
But I disagree with Jason on the codriver thing in regards to the 710's.
50F and windy? Try to keep the heat in the tires when you come up to the line.

Not a problem for Jason, with all that hot air coming from the driver's seat.

What you need is a car that dumps most of its engine heat out the front wheel wells.

(Hmmm, I wonder what car does that... )

Well I tired to get myself a qualified co-driver. I talked with Pobst and he wanted to do it. Unfortunately after checking his schedule Natls was smack dab between two very big races for him. It is way more important that he concentrates on the big prize. He does want to go to Natls again, so don't be surprised if he makes it one of these years.

I am bummed, that would have been a great experience and a very cool story.

I just checked the Heartland Park Topeka website, and the Solo National Championships aren't listed -- but the "Capitol City Clash" is, on the afternoon/evening of September 26th...

As per the solo rules solo is not a spectator event and are not advertised as such, that requires a change to the insurance. I know they talked about doing this for natls but I doubt HPT would get anyone to buy a ticket. Last year there was also a race on the dirt short track at HPT, a number of solo people went to watch and said they had a great time.

Well, I've been informed that the "Clash" is on the dirt track.

And, according to the supps, the National Championships *ARE* being treated as a spectator event (supps A.3).

So what you are saying is it is just like last year. We are not on the website, who cares it is only HPTs site, they call it a spectator event so they can sell beer and one night there is a race on the dirt track. I forget, what was your point?

Never mind, as you probably know, sometimes I'm an idiot.

(Actually, I was concerned about the potential conflict, but it turns out that I was just wrong)
