launching tips?
Just wondering at what RPM you guys launch at. Do you guys just dump it from there or you feather the clutch? One more thing, do you guys ever redline it?

I wouldn't recommend a redline clutch dump, but after that, you're pretty much gonna have to redline it to achieve maximum acceleration. As far as launching, my guess would be about 5500-6000.

When Road and Track tested the car, they said that their best times came from 7500-8000 cluch drops. Ive dropped it from 6000 a couple of times, and their is alot of wheelspin, pretty much through the entire first gear, but it keeps the engine in the highest part of the rev range.

Wheel hop is when you spin the wheels and they sort of bounce up and down like a basketball as they spin.
Some cars can take a little or a lot of wheelspin without a problem. Others, like the FD RX-7, only like a little bit of wheelspin off the line... too much and you get wheel hop. Once you experience it, you'll know what wheel hop is. In my Ford Craptour, if I wheel hop it bad enough, I can shake all the change out of my coin cup on the dash. :D
Is wheel hop an issue in the RX-8??
