Thank you! All results since 2017 added to the main post. Sorry about that, hard to believe it's been almost 2 years since the last update. I haven't run at all this year, so live vicariously through your posts.

Looks like I never shared my SoW CCW time from last year. That was my first (and so far only) time there and had a blast.
Streets of Willow CCW - 1:27.64 -- blu3dragon -- RX-8 S1, estimated at 185rwhp and 3000lbs w/driver. S2 transmission & Diff. Race seat, harness & roll bar. APR wing & DIY splitter, Fatcat coilovers, Toyo RA1 255/40/17 tires (previously used as wets). Now that I've seen RE-Vision's lap,I need more practice, more camber, and maybe CW is faster? :-D |

Car is built for SCCA Time Trials
~2700lb stock motor, lot of custom bits otherwise. Pulls a lot of G in high speed corners 315 square Yokohama A052 NCM 2:20.2 SCCA Max3 class track record, won at nationals 2019 The car in the same configuration also ran at Putnam Park 1:16.4 Next year will likely drop a few more lbs and run Hoosiers for unlimited 2. http://dallasreed.com/download/grayrx8.jpg |
Oh, nice!

Hit Buttonwillow CW13 this weekend. First time at this track in 4 or 5 years and the last time was just one lap in my Elantra, safe to say it's basically new to me. Got a 2:02.3, lots of little and one very big mistake to fix next time, pretty sure 2 flat or faster is achievable.

Here is a 1:38.1 at Gingerman
Stock engine. 315 A7s. Lot of downforce and weight reduction. |
that’s smokin’ compared to the other times posted for there :bubbrubb:
gotta watch those rev limiter hits though :suspect: edit: maybe you’re on the gas still when the clutch pedal is going in instead? |

that’s a good thing with the A7 compound, downforce and those cornering speeds are going to warm them right up imo

Finally beat the time I set back in 2016 :-)
Laguna Seca - 1:43.41 -- blu3dragon -- RX-8 S1, fresh rebuild and ~2950 lbs w/driver. S2 transmission & Diff. Race seat, harness & roll bar. APR wing & small DIY splitter, Fatcat coilovers, Toyo RR 255/40/17 tires (not fresh, but can't complain with the time). This track seems completely dominated by power to weight and I think there were 2 or 3 seconds in the fresh rebuild over my previous couple of outings which were set with the same car but an old motor. |

seems like maybe you’re playing it fairly safe on the curbs?

yeah sorry, my reference was for entrance and mid-corner
having never driven there I can’t say, but watching the vid it seemed like there might have been some time charging over them more. you should shoot for 13:1 AFR on a Renesis. . |

I noticed this post when researching info on engine compression relative to actual power. In your experience how does low engine compression affect your lap times? Do you see lower top speed on the straights? Can you estimate how much of a performance hit there is on track given a specific compression loss. Like say is a 10 psi average loss worth 5 mph on the long straight of your favorite track? Also what point of lost compression or track performance do you consider an engine refresh? Thanks, |

Audio is wind noise because GoPro is not good. Ran a 1:33.6 last night at NJMP Thunderbolt during TNiA. Running Nankang CR-1s instead of Yoko A052s, but no setup changes from autocross.

So I just did my first timing at gratten or ever for that matter. Cold wet day to start track was bit slick and definitely not my fastest time.
131.36 racing beat shocks ebc rotors with cobalt friction pads front rear falcon 245/40 rt660 with last bit of life on them. 2010 stock sport pretty sure I can get under 130 if it want wet rained till 1pm. I may try and get back in a few weeks. Track will be cold but better than last week. |
