JIC Japan's RX-8 has hit our shores!

Hello Rotor heads!

Our famous JIC RX-8 from Japan has arrived to US Shores. It will be in our hands by next week. This is the same RX-8 that competes in the D1 Japan and has also participated in many Time Attack Events. Boasting a 13b Twin Turbo swap that is pushing close to 500hp, is one of very few RX-8's that have completed this swap.

It will be here in to compete in the D1 Grand Prix that will be held on March 4th in Irwindale, CA at Irwindale Speedway. Drop by and say hi to me and our driver, Kouchi Yamashita! I will take pictures of the RX-8 when it arrives in the JIC USA headquarters. Take care and see you all there!

I agree, that's one sick kit. Makes me want to get a new Pearl RX-8 and get to work!

Cool, I love that car. Wish it would place better in the D1 events though. I also wish that Yokomo would make an RC drift model of that car. They have kits for some of the other big name D1 GP cars.

I'm going to the D1 for sure just to see the car and listen to its engine! But it ran Tsukuba for 1:04 "only" with the 500hp motor? Not being an *** here, but I think it could do better. Under a minute would be awesmone! Yea I know in order to run Tsukuba under 1 min, every mods on the car has to build / tune for the track.

Unhappy Nice Vertex....

The Vertax Lang kit looks good, but why stop at a 13Btt?

Why not put a "Hemi" in it?

Why not put a 600hp small block in it?

Why didn't you go with a VIper V10?

A 20B TT would blow it out of the track - my point is, it's not an RX-8, it's just an RX-7 2nd Gen, pushing a very heavy body.

Come back when you can make an RX-8 put out 500hp......

most knowledgable people wouldn't consider drifting to be competition racing, it's mostly a judged style competition, maybe we need a "Whoopee, Look At Me" forum ...

drifting may not be racing... but it sure is competition, so it belongs here.
drifting is here to stay for awhile

Yep, consider it the figure skating of racing

It does a lot of drifting, but JIC Japan has also made a set up for grip/time attack for it as well. It does double duties.

I know that it has competed at the tsukuba circuit for a time attack several times but as for times, I do not know. I will have to ask JIC Japan that tonight.

I'd feel a lot better if some serious RX-8 parts hit our shores instead ...

I wish I could be there to check it out. I'll just droll over this pic since I can't be there.

Come back when you can make an RX-8 put out over 500hp with a Renesis!!!
