Well for one thing that thread had a lot of negative comments. The issue with modding and Mazda Corporate was getting touchy. I am really not suprised. Lets face it very little "hard fact" was actually in the thread. A lot of guessing. I am happy he made 240 hp and I hope that the future will allow him to be more open with the good work he is doing.

When he actually posts what he did over in nopistons.com, it will make its way over here.

It sounds like he just got fed up with all of the harassment and I don't blame him. In my opinion a lot of people on this forum are overly critical of people modifying the RX-8. Think of all of the BS surrounding Rotary Extreme's intake, CanZoomer's piggy back ECU, etc... In each case they are solid products that have gotten a bad rap by all of the trash talking that goes on here.

In effect the club members are stifling development of aftermarket parts for our car because nothing will ever be good enough to satisfy these people. Hell, I say if you think that you can do better then do it and stop whining about someone's product/project. With that in mind I have to give kudos to people like MazdaManiac, CanZoomer, DMenac, Hymee, etc... for doing just that. Nice job guys!

I can't blame Ito for leaving. It is one thing to be skeptical of something, but the posts were just downright rude. I can't believe he stayed and put up with as much as he did as long as he did.

Thanks nay-sayers for the wonderful posts and being so incredibly impatient.

I emailed PoLaK about it; I was in Design II while it was deleted. :o

He said the thread was removed at Judge Ito's request, but something is in store in the not too distant future. Don't ask me what it is, because I'm as clueless as you guys are.

I do. No one likes a tease and that's what Judge Ito did by claiming 240 w/o proof or explanations. The proof part I could care less but without the technical stuff it's just a tease.

If you read his thread, his intent was only to show that this car has unrealized potential, it's people like you who misconstrued that as a "tease".

Yeah, I agree that he wouldn't have had to endure nearly as much flack if he had just waited until he was ready to explain what he was doing to the car but don't forget that he had to put up with the same amount of heckling when he posted a decent 1/4 mile time.

You have got to be kidding.

There are a whole bunch of threads on this forum dedicated to producing more power from the Renesis that actually contain information!!!.
The Ito thread was just an old school rotor-head coming here to flex his muscles and make you all look like a bunch of panty waists.

Why don't you try reading the E-Manage or nitrous threads? More power and actual information, not just a bunch of hype.

I don't know if anyone checked the thread at nopistons.com but Judge Ito didn't get anywhere near the amount of BS he got here. People need to learn to be patient here before our cars potential remains a question mark. I was following the thread (did not post just read and learned instead of adding useless input or criticizing) and he was giving us info but it wasn't good enough for some members here. He may not have said what he did but he was telling us what he did not do which is better than nothing. He provided a dyno sheet, which again is better than nothing. If he decides to reveal what he did I for one look forward to finding out what it is and wish him luck in achieving his goal!

I suggest that in the future we show a little more respect for others and try to contribute positive and constructive criticism vs. useless negative rhetoric...

Contribute???

Seriously, this forum is to spread information and knowledge. That guy (Ito) didn't do that. He made blanket claims with nothing to say more about it.

I did read his original thread and know what his intent was. We already know the car has unrealized potential simply from Canzoomer's posts about tweaking the ECU or Charles' posts about nitrous.

Nope. If someone tells you, "I found a way to get free ice cream but I won't tell you how" then guess what? That's a tease. They may claim they don't want to tell you because their source will get cut off but then why brag about it at all except simply to brag?

If someone posted saying they have a wheel that can fit a 275/35-18 tire up front without rubbing but refused to say what wheel, offset or even if a spacer was used then what's the point of posting? Few people like a showoff.

Did any of the poor teased people try to PM him or e-mail him asking for more info off of this forum? My guess is no because you would rather **** and moan about the teasing. It seems these days the Lounge is the only place to read without anyone showing their a$$.

but remember how long it took for that timeslip to be posted? thats the reason for the flak. but here is the root of the whole thing imho-

ITO is very well known and respected in the rotary community. when he says something people in the rotary communtiy believe him- for instance on nopistons and rx7club. BUT a very large amount of rx-8 owners are not from the rotary scene. they have no idea who ITO or ATkins rotary or Corksport etc etc are. so to them it isnt soem rotary guru coming in here and posting. it is someone they have never heard of, have no idea what his credentials coming here and saying i just did X! if guy321 posted today that he pulled a 13.5 1/4 would you believe him? no all the questioning would begin and wouldnt stop until he posted a readable slip as proof. the problem is ITO is used to being treated like this and his fans cant believe people dont trust him. ive run into the same thing here. i have been on this forum for, i dont know, like 4 years or something. but every once in awhile someone new asks a question and when i post the correct answer they dont believe me until someone else corroborates or i post a link for them to read for themselves. and once in a while it pisses me of that someone thinks i would lie to them. but if people dont know you they have no reason to believe what you are saying until you have built their trust. and on the internet it is harder to do that when everyone hides behind a psuedonym. when the judge first logged on here here most didnt know him and the few who did know of him were skeptical that it was even him- anyone can sign up with any name. and as i said yesterday then he disappeared and didnt post for 7-8 months so there were alot more new people who had no idea who he was or what he was capable of. and these people in the last 8 months have heard alot of talk and seen alot of pictures of of products that are supposed to increase HP that fail to live up to the hype. all of the old school rotary companies have to do alot of trust building with this new rx-8 communtiy. what worked on 7s doesn't work on 8s. thats why we have so many new people jumping in like- hymee and charles hill dmenac7 and canzoomer. people who own the car and and want to make it better. we here trust them cause we know them from the time they have spent in our community. the rest of the "old-timers" haven't proven themselves to us yet. and a few feel like they shouldnt have to.

Ok, for the sake of proving Judge Ito did give some information here is what he did get us. He has proven that without FI or Nitrous the car can have significant gains! IMHO whether it is a whole lot of information or not it is in fact information. As far as I could tell people were stuck in the mindset that in order to get to that power level we needed FI or N2O. People say that he is teasing us, but I say he is preparing us for something good. He said he would reveal what was done in due time. Some of you act as if he was doing this to your car itself (in other words holding your car hostage). The impatience here shows in the fact that some of you didn't even give him a week to get used to the change in the car which I think is the least that some of you could have done. He is going through the learning curve of launching the car again for goodness sake! As far as I know there aren't many people that have the greatest of runs on their cars when they don't know it yet and the change that has been done makes it something new to learn.

We're still interested in solid information, not hearsay - two of you have mentioned a thread at some nopistons.com site - please provide a link to the thread!

Regards,
Gordon

[Edit] - OK, I found it. Big deal - same tease, he even got accused of teasing over there. He still provided no information about the secret mod. Yawn. When there is real information available, then I'm interested. Otherwise, so what? It would be no different than if someone else said "I plugged in an E-Manage, spent 2 months tuning, and got 40 more hp - but I'm not going to tell anybody how I connected it or how it's tuned". Useless information - oh, but in the second case the hypothetical poster at least would have given a hint!
