is this helmet okay?

i'm seeing places that say it has to be dot approved, and others saying snell.

what's the difference?

i plan to attend all types of events (hpde, autox, drift) i also want to b ready for bstock.

will this cover me?

A quick check on any of the online rules from SCCA, NASA etc will tell you what you need.
But no you can't use that. It must be SNELL approved to run with any group. Many will let you get by with an M rated helmet, they are OK for autox. But to get on the big track you need an SA rated unit. Some groups will let you go back up to two ratings - helmets are listed with something like an M95 or SA00 etc - the current rating is M/SA05 and there is no reason not to get the most current.

yeah thanks! i was looking at it, and i just didn't understand.

and thanks for that. i think i might be getting that one, not too expensive. i'll have to try it on. i liked the one i showed you guys cause on other forums, they were saying it felt like an half/open face helmet. and it was really thin/light. we need it for the rx8 :/
