Harness mount question

Hey everyone,

I'm upgrading my current crap 4pt harness to a nice RaceTech 5pt camlock harness. I've got everything bolted down, but was wondering about the "crotch harness". I know it needs to be bolted to the floor, but was wondering how people have gone about doing this and if anyone has any pics? I know NASA has bolt size regulations, and I've taken care of all that. I also have the bracket/washer type deal that came with it.

Thanks for any help!

In my RX7's, I used the front seat mount bolt locations. SCCA tech inspectors never had a problem with it.

That would work with a 6 point harness, but mine is 5, so basically it has to be mounted somewhere in the middle of the floor to be used safely. (Kinda makes me wish I got a 6pt after seeing how easy it is to mount it). I don't think there is a seat bolt anywhere in the center is there? I can't remember of the top of my head and I'm at work.

see if you can swap the 5th belt with a 6, some offer two straps in a single buckle connection so it will work with what you have, then use the front seat bolt mounts

otherwise start drilling through the floor with what you have

no other option other than drill a hole in the floor and use the big washers that you have already.

Step 1: Cut a hole in the box (floor).

Step 2: Put your junk in the box (floor).
