Your mazda weighs about 3200 pounds and can complete a 1/4 mile in about 14 seconds. That means that you've got about 230.49 HP at the wheels, and about 299.64 HP at the flywheel.

hardly sounds accurate...

I ran a 14.8 in the 1/4 a while back (lost the time slip) and typed it in the boxes. It came out pretty close.

Can't work for every application. Even if it's close it's still useless.

It seems accurate for my times too. It is important that you put the exact weight of the car, that really seemed to change it. I'm bone stock and came in a hair over 230hp at the crank on this calculator. Considering the manufacturer claims 238 hp, I find this to be pretty darn close!

My car weighed exactly 3270 pounds when I took it to the track.

Also, that sounds about right. I remember a guy on here who ran a 14.1 with a greddy turbo, and later dynoed it around 235 hp at the wheels.

This was before the Int-X and whatnot and certainly not a true indicator of what the Greddy can do, but it is what it is.

it seems like the real time for a stock rx8 would be 15.2 seconds for a quarter mile. "Your RX8 weighs about 3200 pounds and can complete a 1/4 mile in about 15.2 seconds. That means that you've got about 180.10 HP at the wheels, and about 234.13 HP at the flywheel."
