and don't bash initial d  a fair amout of the material points you in the right direction even thou it may not be 100% realistic or accurate as for understeer... the onlyway i've ever had it understeer is by being quite brutal with my steering inputs. turn the wheel too far and your understeer until enough speed is scrubbed off for the front tires to "grab", then the rear steps out Except I find too many people think they're Takumi the first day they sit in a car. They tend to misunderstand cars..., and think that somehow ABS is an evil mechanism designed for idiots...., when they're hardly pros themselves (as an example). So yeah. :) Also, the rear only steps out after understeer if it's wet..., at least for me. I still remember being caught totally by surprise at a wet autocross, coming out of a long sweep, hearing the front tires beg for mercy..., and as I exit, the 8 fishtailed left and right. :uhh: Thank god I had defensive driving skills taught by the Mid-Ohio Driving School down by instinct. Speaking of which, HEY OP, GO DO SOME TEEN DEFENSIVE DRIVING WITH MID-OHIO! |

na, one of the best way to make the rx8 drift IS to switch to less grippy tires. and a sway helps too.

or you can put cafeteria trays under the front wheels
... wait what? |
if you cant figure out how to drift a rx8, then start with a older car,
like a corolla, 240sx/s13 its not very hard to figure out how the rx8 works, bring it to the track, (drift day, or anything like that) its simple in the rx8, |
hahah, buncha haters XD
|
thread resurrection, my biggest trouble is the torque issue, seems like i run out of juice mid drift if the roads are bone dry.
|
^ thats also i problem Ive hit i cant seam to keep the drift going long enough and sometimes its hard to start it drifting soon enough. I ussually go into the turn with the revs up pretty high and just slam on the gas (power over) and sometimes add a little flick or clutch kick, I like the clutch kick but I dont like how violent it can be and I havnt used it enough to be able to get the same affect time and again I guess i just need to practice with how high to rev before dumping it depending on my speed etc etc..
But the point is Im having a lot of fun with it |
2way lsd will fix that..
go in a parking lot and practice doughnuts in second. |
hahah i deffinity will, practicing is soooo fun

Well, to be honest with you I love my car a little more than that. I'll run it on a drag strip, but doing donuts... The car was meant to drive straight (maybe not that hard), but is wasn't made to sit there and do donuts. Thats just my opinion and I'm sure someone will choose to argue

install 500# front and rear springs, then go earn style points in the drifting forum with the other ballerinas ......
