Due to the lack of threads and my complete ignorance on this topic I am asking people for some help here. I have been reading and looking at different things on taking this car to a circuit style track since drag racing in my opinion is worthless. My 8 is stock with a K&N air intake and a short shifter. In about 6 months I may purchase another 09 rx8 for my personal track car with the same mods and was wondering how I can get involved in these activities.

BMW, Audi, Porsche, among others do these regularly. You can generally go to any of them after joining and /or just paying the entry fee.

the rx8 belongs in racing. such a nice car in stock form to flick around and have fun all day. before getting into track or wheel to wheel racing, i'd greatly suggest little autocross (parking lot, cones) events first. i'd definitely do a good amount of racing before buying a track oriented car though.
