Congrats?

I took a quick look at the Patit Le Mans results, and only say 5 P2 cars listed. Three of which DNF. So, a second place doesn't seem like much. Especially when they finished 21 laps behind the P2 winner!

its a credit to Mazda and BK that they even have a car to run! They threw this car together before this ALMS season without a lot of prep or track time. I give them credit for the effort and hopefully better results next year!

They key to winning is not only getting there the fastest but just getting there to begin with. Reliability is just as important as the only thing that matters is who is first or farthest at the end. A DNF is still a part of racing. Even the Courage was having issues and it still finished. Not too bad for an overweight, underpowered car that is constantly being modified with untested parts. 2nd place seems quite nice actually.

In formula one fernando alonso is not the fasttes in the track so does it means he should not be the shampion?

remember this is endurance racing the most important thin is to last the entire race.

WHAT IS MORE AMAZING IS THAT THE ROTARY ONLY FAIL TO FINIHS ONE RACE AND IT WAS BECAUSE IT WAS HIT.

and some gt2 in some races, and if you look at the result the porche p2 beat some p1.

AMLS IS NOT NASCAR, this is a series of diferent cars and tecnologies and most of the time the fastes car is not the one that wins.

in gt1 the saleem has been the fastes car in the last 4 races an has not even one win.

in p2 the porche have a buget that will run the entire series for a couple of years and the other teams have been around for some time.

give this guys time and they will be competitive in turns of speed but in relaybility they are one of the best teams right now.

I'd love to think that next season the car will be up there with the Intersport and Porsche in absolute speed ... truth is, that's not likely. Although Mazda is planning on dumping a lot more money into the team, and they'll probably have a 4 rotor next year.

I agree, even if they use a 4 rotor they will be restrictet, but if the car gets to withing a couple of seconds to the porche they will have a good chance of wining.

The comentators for the race at Laguna Seca said BK would be using a new Mazda chassis next year. Does anyone here know any more details?

I'm just happy that Mazda returned to road racing, should give the brand as a whole a big shot in the arm.
