NC chumpcar rx8 looking drivers

ok i have a rx8 04 automatic im going to be racing in chump car in 2014 in about 6-8 events.the car is 85 percent done right now.we have a back up car in case of any crashes also to swap over everything if ever needed.i have a tread going on the chump car forum with pics and details of the car.in a effort to get drivers im going to be selling seat time for 650.00 bucks and let me tell you thats cheap even for chump car standards.we are a 3 man team right now but we dont drive we just prep the car and take it to races me my dad and my cousin.i fill in sometimes when people dont show up or get to scared to drive at night and trust me it happens alot.

we have done 10 plus chumpcar races in 2011-2012 in a 87 rx7 so we know the ends and outs already.we will be going to daytona sebring vir charlotte road atlanta etc if its on the east coast we are there.there are a few races up north we will go to if we get enough drivers for those events.the 2014 schedule has yet to come out but i already know the big 5 are on there and will be run several times in the year.anyways contact me for info usedcarpartss@aol.com

yeah i do we also added a huge cooler for the trans.our goal is to have eveyone make laps at a decent pace.its not about being the fastest car in chumpcar to do well just finish with a decent pace and you will do very good.this rx8 is very very light we have taken off anything not needed but hey we will find out after the first race or 2 and change what we need to as we go along.i dont think anyone has ever raced a early rx8 like this.

but my street version rx8 has 165,000 on the stock trans and i drive the **** out of it and have never had a trans issue.i know racing is alot different but when we ran our 87 rx7 in chumpcar i think we went thru 5 transmissions and 3 clutches so manual or auto either way can be a adventure

I could be interested in the VIR event, everything else is a bit far. Just ran a 14 hour ChumpCar event at Calabogie in a Neon, and would love to do it in an 8. But also not sure about the trans surviving that long... pics/history of the car?

car race history is none as of right now but by the time vir events come around will will be 4 or so races in.but in this type of racing you never know what will break.we will have a spare trans with us along with some other spares but we are trying to keep the overhead cost down hince the 650 seat time price.usually the price for this type of car would be 950 but im trying t fill spots.

go to chumpcar.com and my user name on there is coolcars44 you will see all my post up there and there are lots of pics of the rx8 and details etc.for vir 24hr next year we already have 2 drivers in so 4 spots left for that race.at 650 i think they will fill quick since we are a team with experience already and mainly with rotary stuff.our team name is rotary racing you can also go to chumpcar.com and look at past races to see were we finished at in events

the trans in car right now has 72k on it our backup we have has 86k on it.but with the large cooler on the trans we hope that will help keep it alive longer we put in a new torque convertor in when we pulled the motor for a full rebuild we did.motor was built with upgraded oil flow mods and new seals and housings and deep groove rotor bearings and the high power stat gears and used pineapple racing water seals we have put motor together to last longer

I'm having trouble understanding how a RX-8 would qualify for chump car? I've never seen one for sale for $500...

WRONG it already is a chumpcar i have been told it will be fine to race by regional race director about the car and as long as it is a automatic we are good.and go to chumpcar race half the field is not a 500 car.

I don't see how. You *can* run any car in ChumpCar, but the lap penalties add up pretty quickly and you're not eligible for the championship. Bluebook on an 04 Automatic is 4-5k in Fair condition so... maybe that race director doesn't know 8's very well?

Not trying to knock you down, but before you go caging the car and spending a bunch of money on safety, maybe you want to check things out a bit more?

your totally missing the point man.its not about going out to win first place.simple fact is either way you get to race at major tracks in a endurance race full out racing for 650 freaking dollars.if we get to the track and we get to many laps they will just put us in the ec class.and since chumpcar has changed the rules to no aiv and to market value then there are gonna be alot of cars in ec.so we will be racing for top spots in that class if that happens

and no worries i ran a rx7 in chumpcar for 2 years and have already asked about running the car with the regional directors before i started building the car.its already caged and about finished at this point

Hmmm its good track time for low price, agreed. $/hour seat time you can't beat it. Whats the team name, I'll look out for you in the results?

If someone decides to jumo on this and needs safety gear, I can sell the full kit minus helmet and hans device.

I can see it being legit. Would you pay more than $500 for an automatic RX-8?

I'm becoming more interested in this the more I think about it. I just get nervous on a team thing.. don't want to be the slow guy holding the rest back.

A friend of mine did an "arrive and drive" for the LeMons race this past weekend, and I've become extremely jealous.

yeah people knock the automatic rx8 but its a quick car when it dosent weight much.if i could have done a 6-speed car i would have but the cost was just to much plus the laps we would have got were to high.

but for the cost you cant beat it for the tracks and seat time.if you are intrested just email me usedcarpartss@aol.com i have a driver agreement every driver must read and sign before driving with our team.i have filled many seats already vir and daytona are half filled already

and dont worry about being the slow guy id rather have a slow guy that makes laps and keeps out of trouble its mainly about making laps
