Carrying Tires to and From an Event. Suggestions?
yes, the trailer is only 1500 lbs
between the trunk in the bed and the folding rear seat with storage underneath we can haul 3 people, personal gear, multiple sets of wheels/tires, and all necessary pit gear/tools comfortably, planning to get a Lear topper on it in the next several months for even mor space capability
we have been close to the 10,000 lb GVWR many times and it only pulls down on the steepest slopes at high elevations (6000 ft +), otherwise we typically run 75 - 80 mph without issue, tows like a dream on cruise control, you hardly know the trailer is even back there, towed across the Rockies to Nats without any issues, it only pulls down due to the gearing gap, it will pull strongly up anything to 70 mph under WOT, but when the next gear hits it will drag down to 61 mph before the trans will make the downshift and let you run back up to 70 again, and then repeat ...
the truck is my daily driver and I have an 88 mile round trip for work each day, the Ridgeline is a comfortable vehicle for this, a diesel dually is an awesome tow vehicle but would suck as a daily driver and is also much more expensive for the same option level

1500 lb + 2750 lb car + misc stuff I stick in the car, probably 4500 lbs is the max it's ever seen; trailer is rated 7000lb GVWR, the truck is rated 5000lb max tow capacity, dual axle e-brakes haul it down amazingly fast even with fully loaded truck and all
Row faster, I hear banjos

Interesting data point, my car weighed less with Matthew in it than with no driver...
