Bridgestone Potenza RE12D track impression and new Intake system testing

first event this year with new camber seting. and new intake system but last but more importantly with 265/35/18 BS re12D on Enkei RS055rr 18x10.5j with 12D i imporve over 1 sec compare Z3 at same damper setting on session 2 but during sec hot lap 2. when i was in the zone !!! the racelogic obd2 scaner fall off to the floor. i was really disturb by that... i was try to use my feet to fish up to me ... what is worst on the main straigh, it run down to my gas pedal.... man that really should be 55ish lap i think my spark plug is a bit old( 1 year of 8 track day use) , thus my lap stop at 56.9. i have confidence. with 12D i can get down to 55ish lap time with re12D's larger thread block and slam outer shoulder design, i was brake much deeper and with faster turn in !! but with such softer compount tire will get greesy around 2-3 hot lap in taiwan weather, people even using this tire as semi wet tire at race !!!

and with my custom intake i was able to improve my top speed to 161km , last session with colder weather and still cant go over 159km
sounds very agrriesive for sure !!!

Might not grease up so fast if you can shave them to 1/2 tread depth. Not sure if you have that capability there or not?

I think you also have extra top end power now too, right?

.

I couldn’t find the actual tread depth listed on the Bridgestone JP website, but just looking at them there is plenty to shave off to reduce squirm, which is going to reduce the operating temperature under load.

Probably down around 4mm - 5mm, because the inside tread grooves look to be around 9mm - 10mm deep. The outside tread blocks will probably become much more solid/groove-less too (like a real race tire). I suppose if you don’t have a tire shaving option there it’s kind of a moot point.

I think With thread block design is difficult to shave it
