Brakes

I will be doing my first track event on the 24th. The front pads are new oem but the rear are original with 24000 street miles on them. I am new to this and was wondering if I should replace my rear pads before going?? If so what type are recommended?

Depends on how much pad material is left and the track itself. If you are brand new to tracking your car and you have more than 35% pad left in the back, I would say you are probably OK. Remember that on track you slow down in as short a space as possible rather than riding the brakes. Brake hard and get it done with instead of slowing down gradually. Have fun!

Thanks for the info.

After the event I am sure I will need to replace the pads. What type do you recommend. I use my car for everyday driving and occasionally will track it.
