AutoX Test & Tune Weekend

My first time out with the RX-8. I learned alot and managed to get better times each run. There were only a few better drivers out there and lots of more powerful cars that couldn't hang with the RX-8. All-in-all, a fun weekend. Not sure if I am "hooked" yet, but I will be doing it again.

Some pics.

Nice pics. I like the first one where you can see the car dive down on the right front. One of the things I'm trying to solve in my setup.

The course was very short. The best time was about 30.5 seconds - my best time was about 32.5 seconds.

I never left 1st gear on my best runs.

One major gripe, there is not enough headroom with a helmet on!

Anyone know of a lower profile Snell-95/2000 helmet?

2nd that, sometimes I couldn't turn my head w/helmet on. My instructor had to have the sunroof cover open just to sit in the car!

That was your first mistake - getting the car with a sunroof. I made that mistake on my RX-7's, and I made sure I got the RX-8 without. It adds 1-1/2 inches or so of headroom. I have no problem with the seat cranked all the way down.
