Anyone running PTC with their RX-8 in NASA?
Hey guys,
I've been looking at my mods and classed my car accordingly. Stock, the RX-8 is PTD for NASA, and has a 20 pt tolerance for mild mods. The mods I have add 22points to my base class which puts me in PTC. I know PTC is a bit more difficult to be competitive and want to have a pretty decent season.
Has anyone had experience in PTC? How'd your races go against the other vehicles? My big debate is to leave my RB Test pipe off, run the stock cat, and drop 10mm on my tire width (at 275 right now). That will keep me in PTD.
Your thoughts?

Even if you try to max out your points in C what would you spend them on? You are going to be at a big disadvantage in horsepower and there is not much you can do about it since there isn't much you can do to an RX-8 to add it.

Yeah I was kind of under that assumption with the power issue.
My car does really well against some high hp cars so far but it really depends on the track. I think playing around with it to put me in PTD/TTD would definitely be more competitive for me. I just looked at some cars in the C class and wasn't too blown away by the cars in there. I think if I end up modding the car a little more it wont be too bad.
Thanks for the pointers!

How many points are you saving on by putting the stock cat back on? Having that thing off seems worth the +1 you add. Going down to 255 tires makes since. 275 is a bit wide for a relatively low HP'd car IMO.
What front seats are you running? Do they add points for the weight reduction in race seats and steering wheel modification?
