Anyone Autocrossing in Orlando?

Hello,

I am new to this forum. I just bought a 2005 RX-8 and am going to be autocrossing it for the first time this sunday. I have been autocrossing a miata for the last 2 years and before that a civic for a year. I was wondering if anyone autocrosses a rx-8 in central florida. ?

Thanks

Ronnie

Close... I autox in the Jacksonville area. I ran a few events with central FL at Gainsville. I also have been running a miata and just bought an 8. Are you doing the FL State Championship next weekend? It's at g-ville.

I really didn't even know about the Gainsville event. I have run at Gainsville a couple times, but never with scca, only with Martin Sports Car Club. Whats the date of that event?

And what class are you in, BS? or a prepared class?

thanks

Ronnie

I realize that this thread is old, but when I did a search of SCCA Gainsville this thread came up. Anyway, to all that are in the area. The SCCA's Buccaneer Region Solo events can be found here. There is an event this Sunday the 23rd of March. The track is located here.

Martin SSC was my old stomping ground. I miss racing with those guys.

I also ran events at Deland and once or twice at Valencia CC with SCCA.

I ran at Brooksville once with PCA (don't remember the chapter name).

It's definitely worth the trip to Ft. Myers to run some events with the Gulf Coast Autocrossers club. That's a great site.

The CFR SCCA has events at the DeLand Airport, down in Palm Bay and also Brooksville. Their website has all the times and instructions: http://www.cfrsolo2.com/

I'm usually at the DeLand events with my Jetta. There's usually between 75 and 100 cars there, and nice people. Not too many RX8s though, mostly Miatas.

That is the way that they have been explained to me. Come on out... if nothing else see how it is run, ask questions, check out the different set ups. I have yet to race, and just going down there to see how it is run and to help out.
