4206F any racers have this done?

I was informed by my dealer of the recall and had not been too excited about taking my car in since there was really nothing wrong with it...

I take it the dealership for the 4206F check up procedure. Well after finding that the car had no other problems except my annoying dash rattle of which they claim they were afraid to fix because it could exacerbate the problem.

All that aside the dealership is closing I get my keys and start the car. It takes approx 6-8 turns for car to start. It used to take 2 turns...idle is very rough and the car after a 2 minute warmup is stumbling. I rev it a couple times maybe to clear plugs...Get on the highway to head home and barely get moving in 1st - 3rd gear. The car is very sluggish and has now power at all. Finally I take it to redline in first after getting off the highway just to see what is the problem...

Car is still running like crap. Performance never suffered untill the Flash. I check the threads regarding this re Flash and wish I never took the car in. No wash or gas...never the less I tried to re set by tapping the brake 20 times etc and it did not work...

Bottom line car is going back to the service department tommorow. Any suggestions based on previous owners experience. I can tell right away that this reflash seems to make the mapping and fuel/air, oil mixture, more rich and retards the timing. Can I get my old flash code back?

Any help appreciated

That sucks but this is probably in the wrong section, there are TONS of information in the tech section and most people hardly noticed anything before/after the flash. I didn't notice anything for one and they didn't give me new plugs/wires but I did get a rental and wash/gas.

Resetting the ECU won't affect the flash, do you have any check engine lights? Also try pulling the negative terminal off the battery for a few minutes.

I had it done, zero problems. Got a Mazda 6 loaner, wash and fuel. They replaced the two leading plugs and did the reflash. I ordered and repalced the other two plugs a few days later.

is your maf clean? did they change the plugs and get something crossed up? Anything can happen at a dealership.

it takes several drive cycles for the ecu to settle down...

also reset you eshaft.. and reset the whole ecu with a bat disconnect and step on the brake while disconnected.
