265 35 18 on stock wheels
Unless you are putting down 300whp... you don't need it and will be worse in terms of performance. Go with 245's :O
You'll be much happier. Anyway, max for the rx8 rim is 255, you can't go past that unless you get a welding shop to extend the rim.

Can you put a 265 on the stock wheel? yes
Would I do it on my car? no
You would be better off running 245's on the stock wheel (assuming you are talking about street tires.)

I have 4 265/35/18 left over from my Corvette, I will use them on my race wheels. 245/40/18 on my street rims/tires.
I kind of need something to drive as I popped one of my OEM tire and I am not allow to buy new tires until I sell all the Corvette stuff and snow tires!
Yes you can fit 265 on an 8" wheels. I am only doing that as a test since I already have those tires available.

Not only will they be a better fit for the wheel but they will be lighter and a 245 r-comp should have more grip then a 265 street tire.

Tire size does not matter.... The car/ABS just thinks you are going faster than you really are.
