I wanted to say congrats to KJ for putting down some awesome runs on the East course and being the top RX-8 in STX.
And, congrats to Karl for getting a trophy in my car.
I drove the East course like I did the West course - quick, but not fast. Still about 1 sec off Karl. Just not sure what was up - I didn't make any big mistakes. Hopefully the data & video will help me figure out what was up.
Finally, congrats to Neal Tovsen for being the top "real" STX driver in the class. The BMWs are still the car to beat in STX.

^LOL.
Perhaps the PAX index for STX will get lowered as a reult - after all, the same car is tops in both STX and ST.
[edit]Although it would be more poetic if the ST index got bumped to STX levels. That would be funny.
Let's hope the STAC/SEB can do something about this by 2012...

I blame the width, and grip, of the 285 Hoosiers for all of those cones... I could have never turned in and ran them over like that on my old 245 Kumhos.
I had zero expectations going in this year, I had only done three events prior to natls - in three different cars - so I knew I would not have the edge needed to run at the top.
I have to thank Brian for letting me drive his car after I could not find anything else of interest.

Wish I could of run my 8 in CS this year with the kind of competition we had in the class. Did end up driving in another class. All I can say is: All Hail The Stig (Bryan)

Congrats to your dad on the win in EP. You weren't too far behind either!

Starting from behind on day 2, then winning the championship on the 6th run. That was such a nail-biter, I couldn't leave the computer until I saw the final results. Jennifer FTW!

Yea, it is a two rotor, but all aluminum housings-super light. Also, he moved it back 12" this year to improve the balance-it looks like it pivots like a top.
Totally ridiculous!
By the way, my son sold Jeff the turbo that he is using after we decided to do the BNR rebuild of the stock turbos which we are very happy with.

Back atcha Mark.
Couldn't resist.
You folks know what that means... photos are up! Ah but only Tuesday shots so far. I outdid myself this time making far too much work for myself. Taking 2800 photos in one day is just stupid.
More to come.
As for the PAX, Jeff is no doubt an amazing driver but you have to admit he's built a better PAX-buster. That car is insane.
Conditions on the West course definitely favored CS over BS. I walked the course right after BS finished in the 2nd heat on Tuesday and they had some unbelievably tight lines to deal with. Lots of dirty sections where I would have wanted to place the car. When I walked it Thursday for my runs it was much better - not to mention all the rubber laid down by CP, SSM, et al.
East course was a different story, I think BS may have had better conditions there what with our oil spill and rain midday Friday over there. It was dry (ish) for CS, misting a bit more for third runs where nobody improved.
There's no way an MS-R can hang with the top BS cars given equal conditions, even on a tight transitiony course. I've ridden in Zach's AP2 (the car that finished 2nd and 4th last week) and the way it transitions puts the MS-R to shame. Actually after watching BS run this year and seeing some videos I'm itching to drive a CR in BS. Anyone want to buy a low-mileage 2004?
