Wonder if the SEB forgot about that, or has already decided not to put the classes together.

I did not expect that at all.... With a potential BS-CS merger on the table I expected BS-CS to run the same days in 2009 - meaning one of us would have done a repeat of last year.

With the CS/BS merge on the table, it would have been nice if CS and BS ran on the same days and at comparable times. This would at least given a large data sets for the comparison of the classes. Looking at entries for National events it seems that CS will be under-represented is many events thus providing less useful data. The Solstice on concrete has in the past beat the RX8 big time. This is based mostly on some fast drivers at Peru events.

Sad thing is, back in my college days when I was a surf bum at UC Santa Barbara, I did sport something close to a mullet...hey, it was the late '80s, I was stylin'
I do agree that, if this BS/CS idea is going to continue to be considered, that getting more meaningful data would have been a good idea. I also am seeing much less interest in CS locally and in the Tour/Pro entries out here...and the West Coast has historically seen big CS participation.

Even though I'm in support of the merger, if it doesn't happen, I *might* just stay in BS for another season.

The thing I don't understand, regarding CS, is why there aren't more Solsti out there running...the cars can be bought dirt cheap in the used market, doing the Z0K conversion isn't too costly, they are definitely a top contender in class, they are easy on tires, fun to drive, get good gas mileage/good daily driver and are cheap to run. Yes, build quality isn't Miata like, but it isn't horrible, either. I just don't get it.
