2009 Houston Tour

Looks like B-stock has made a class - despite numbers being low for the event: Entry List

Best of luck to all in attendance!

should be fun except for the fact i'll probably get skirted...

here's hoping there will be enough adult beverages available to ease the pain...

It is a shame more people are not making the trip. I made it out there once and can tell it was worth the drive... Great site, great Roger Johnson course, and friendly people. Wish I had tine to do it again.

Good luck folks! Here's hoping the surface isn't too dirty on Day 1.

Y'all have fun - I was looking for a ride for this event, but opted to spend the weekend at Harris Hill Road instead.

Look for former B Stockers Jeremy Foley and Jon Wagner in J-Fo's new '08 Z06 in Super Stock. They should be exciting to watch - they don't call themselves Team Wheelspin for nothing! :D

apparently so since he's 0.1 sec ahead of CS

or are you just trying to CYA after suddenly realizing that the '09 might not be the big, bad giant killer you've been going ga-ga over for the last 6 months

Good job by edj, looks like he was flying

I wonder if there's some type of story behind the story...BS/CS right on top of SS (and Lance is a good driver) and some other fast classes with top drivers not much quicker.

Actually, I was comparing his time to SS. However, CS has some solid drivers - 2nd place is Pedroza and he's fast in his MSR.

Exactly. Maybe the course was RX-8 friendly. Either way, Eric delivered today!

Lots of sweepers and variations on fast offset gates. Two large 180 sweepers. The slaloms are mostly three cone give and gos. Pretty typical Roger Johnson. Two Kinney cones. I killed the one at the finish and took it with me.

Here's some in-car video of the course from my buddy James Wilson's HS impreza wagon:

The site is generally slippery and limits putting power down for the high TQ/HP cars

don't read too much into the margin of victory...
Jason hasn't set up the R3 yet, just ignore any previous
claims you might have read on the internet. ;-)

i'll have some rx8 video up at some point. feel free to giggle at it...

I _thought_ the car was set up pretty well for the concrete, and it was... but it sucked for the asphalt. That, and I thought it would be okay as I was only about a half second off after my first run on Saturday - then, when Eric opened the can of whoop ***, I tried a bunch of shock changes that definitely didn't work!

Need to go back to the drawing board, probably try the 265 Hoosiers, need to work on the alignment more, and figure out if I can get the car to work on this stiff of a setup... I know everyone has tried this before, and I'm not discrediting the work that others have done with setup - but I'm a stubborn **** and I'm going to continue down this road to see if it will work!

Next stop, Blytheville Tour, hopefully! Big congrats to Eric... despite the CS beatdown, he should hold his head high - I watched his runs, he was hitting his marks, online and carrying great speed - awesome driving!

ok, back on a real computer...

Had a great time, 2 excellent Roger Johnson courses except for a funky start on day 2,
great to see Jason & Juliann back out. sorry for the rude treatment...ok not really. ;-)

I drove better on Saturday than Sunday. I plowed through the last 180 on Sunday which
cost me a time closer to CS but they still would have beat me for the weekend. I'm beginning
to think the BS/CS merge isn't a good idea, just like the rest of you.

Here's a link to the videos I took:

http://outserv.cactus.org/~edj/videos/

the files are pretty large and image quality so-so. they look much better un-compressed.

when's the next event?

You can really see how gritty the surface is in many of the pics...
