2006 SCCA Solo Nationals smack talk thread

6 weeks. 42 days. We will have the answer to who is the 2006 B-Stock National Champ.

I figure there can be a lot of smack talk in 6 weeks.

For example:
You girls just may as well not show up. It'll make it much easier on you when you have a shoulder to cry on at home when you lose to me.

Sportscar has picked why they think it'll be. Congrats on the nomination Joe. (Kiss of Death). Will Sportscar Be wrong? Yes... they will be.

I'm thinking the winner ought to be from somewhere closer to the middle of the country
rather than from the West/East coasts...someone from Texas maybe?

And those SportsCar "guessers" are a clueless bunch, let me tell you!

At the Packwood Pro while Joe was trying to figure out how I beat him by .9 I gave him the good news about him getting the pic. Kiss of death for sure.

Why don't you drive up to Wendover this weekend and we will see how you stack up.

You're all wrong. It's gonna be someone you've never heard of. In a yellow car. Yellow is just faster, right?

Hey Keith, check your damn gmail account.

Wonder what would happen if Sam Strano showed up in an MR2 Turbo? I thought I read somewhere that he was thinking about running one of those this year.

You mean that John V guy isn't running in AS this year?

FWIW...it's easier to put the hurt on people when they don't see you coming. Sorry all you guys that got mentioned.

He ran a bunch of tours and the Pro series (along with a few WDCR events) in the MR2T last year. There was a reason he and the car's owner didn't run it at Nats last year even though they brought it out for the Finale.

That's obvious, otherwise I would have been mentioned.

Yes, I know I have no chance... but it's gonna be West coast all the way!

1) I've had enough of high elevation autocrossing for one year... and my
co-driver used up all my tires!

2) What makes you think I was referring to myself? There are other
Texas drivers who routinely kick my butt.

It is cool if you don't want to run with me. I understand how you might feel good right now because you scored a couple of wins when the class was soft and it might hurt a bit to get whooped right before natls.

Wow now that is sad.... You have to talk smack for the other people from TX.

Smack Talk

Now those are some really good posts'

Keep em comin'...I'm surprised not hear anything yet from the Z Car camp

Too bad ashalt is variable in it's level of grip. First car drivers on Tuesday's course will be literally sliding around the course. That site is so green the sand is still coming up. No agregate to adhere to. The difference between runs 1-3 will not so much be a matter of mastering the course but managing the grip. He who makes the least amount of corner exit, entry errors while staying on line wins I don't think a National Championship event should be held their untill the pavement seasons

Now if only the driver were as "setup" as the car is..
Oh.. and if you can just keep that setup in one piece, that would be great.

SMACK!

I know... here it comes...

Nope! I know that there are a few Z posters around just as you post on other boards

Anyway, I'm surprised no comment on the surface issues

The surface is what it is, variability heat to heat and run to run is part of autocrossing and we're going to have to deal with it this year and maybe next. I can't really comment on whether the surface is "ready" or not since I haven't been out there. I do know that the grip level is gonna suck compared to Forbes but at the same time I'm happy because my home lot (FedEx) is not the grippiest asphalt. Forbes was a big adjustment. This will be less of an adjustment.

I'm more concerned with the available space. Forbes was awesome. The layout was very conducive to being able to see both courses, and they were huge. There was plenty of paddock. It was easy to get in and out of grid. I'm going in pessimistic about Heartland Park and hopefully I'll leave being pleasantly surprised.

No smack from the Tennessee Thompson's. We just hope to do a little better than last year against the RX8 squadron. Hope BS does not run first on Tuesday cause we don't like sandy surfaces....seems odd that "track grade" asphalt would generate so much grit.

Why not? Did he cease development of his SM Evo?
