I'm looking for winter tires for my 8, preferably 5-60% used (to save money over brand new). Must be 18" to fit on OEM rims, or any compatible size if they come with rims/steelies.

Appearance is not a factor or consideration. I would prefer my 8 ride on ugly *** steelies all winter and be able to drive fine vs looking drop dead gorgeous in the salt and grime of the snowbank off the side of the road. I don't need 60,000 miles or whatever left on the tread, I drive ~2,000 miles over the winter, staying off the road as much as possible anyway, but it is never completely avoidable. Just something enough for this winter and maybe the next winter or two is fine.

I can swing up to $300 for just tires, $400 for tires + wheels.

I can paypal money and deal with shipping, but would immensely prefer picking them up in person and paying cash. My pickup range is pretty much anywhere within 9 hours of driving from Providence Rhode Island. Canada isn't really an option since I don't have my passport (I think it's required now?), though meeting just on our side of the border is fine.
