That would still be louder than an oem midpipe with gutted cat.

Cops arond here give out 150$ tickets anytime they think your exhaust is too loud. There is no test to prove it's too loud either. Whatever they think is loud is the law.

I have read countless threads on this forum and others about adding resonators to midpipes with very little success.

That's why the Mazsport midpipe was such a huge seller!

I am guessing a gutted oem midpipe is quiet because the construction of the pipe is so damn solid.

dude, you are turbocharged. so... turbos greatly reduce the exhaust sound.

if you have $500, here is THE BEST SOLUTION YOU CAN POSSIBLY DO.

buy the turbo xs. for $500 you will get THE ENTIRE ******* FULL 3 INCH EXHAUST.

ok.. 3", full 3". none of this 2.5" or less nonsense.

and the best part? it includes silencers for the tip. and guess what? the silencers REALLY REALLY WORK. if im cruising at 60mph you cannot hear it. if i accelerate from a stoplight, shifting at 3.5k rpm, all there is is a nice growl. with a turbo, there'd be even less sound. it has one resonator in it. if you want to add another one, there is a long straight section where you could do that.

honestly, why are you still waiting?

The reason is because I find mysql's exhaust system WAY too loud and that is WITH the added cc insert he welded onto the midpipe to try and quiet it down.

The exhaust tips on the turboxs exhaust are retarted. They are way too small and need to be extended to avoid melting the bumper. The included tip silencers are useless because I would cut those tips off and extended them with bigger tips like mysql did.

i have greddy turbo with racing beat straight pipe and JIC titanium exhaust. it isn't really that loud. i would call up racing beat and have them custom make you a straight pipe with one of their resonators on it. it won't be loud at all then.

afaik, resonators do not reduce the loudness, they simply take out certain frequencies so the droning isnt terrible.

also, turborx8, realize that the videos of msqls car does not have the silencers in the exhaust. if you had the tips extended with 3.5" tips (or w/e it is) and a hole drilled in the bottom of each tip, you could still use the silencers. i should post a video of my car with the silencers. my car is only a bit louder than yours and i dont have a turbo.

i dont agree. it depends on the resonators size shape and how many.. and the exhaust behind it..

and i have been through a couple of combos to get what i like..

Custom made Mid-pipe. Hey Jason should have the flanges now to make you a mid-pipe with a large Res and high flow cat. Give him a ring! He doe's really good work and uses good stuff to build his exhaust systems. He's a one man show and take pride in his work.
