Hahaha, I broke mines about 10 minutes ago trying to change the AC filter. LOL. I've changed it plenty of times too.

Ah well. Does anyone know the Mazda part number?

Mine broke under warranty, the tech got the part from the Parts Dept, then read the instructions - "take out the dashboard...." so he starts taking the whole friggin car to pieces....

I grabbed the part, took the movable arm bit off the mount and told him " just replace this bit"

Done in five minutes.

Techs....

I'm hoping it's going to be that easy...lol Otherwise I'll just leave it locked and not go in the glove compartment again. I never really use it anyway.

Exactly what happens to my glove box now . There's a stopper for the glove box, and I hope that thing holds since there is added stress with the lack of dampening.

Hilarious how flimsy the damn dampener plastic hook is. Especially considering how strong the dampener is -_-... Never pull it hard just because I was aware of that before it broke. I might just drill two holes and wire tie the glove box to the dampener arm.

Received mine at work today, swapped it out in 5 minutes using only my index finger. The secret is just to push the bottom tab up, and angle the cylinder off. Use a flashlight to shine light on the connector and you'll know what I mean. Pop the new one in and you are done.

It's actually sort of annoying how slow it opens now. It had a better opening speed when I got the car. Hopefully it will wear down a bit.
