Still need an RX8 radio dash kit? I've got 4 now! (one's for me! =D) 168.91 EACH +SH

I've got two Single Din / High Gloss dash kits (Metra part #99-7510HG) and one extra RX-8 Double Din / High Gloss dash kit (Metra part #95-7510HG)

These are all SEALED & UNOPENED

They just arrived directly from Metra -

I waited so long for the last kit to arrive, I ordered 4 this time, but these came pretty fast - It was cheaper to order these in quantity, rather than one at a time, so the shipping costs were divided between the 4 kits, so each kit comes out to being only 168.91 plus shipping.

I ordered a double din for my 8, and figured while I was at it, I'd order 2 extra singles, and an extra double din, to have on hand in case one of my friends with 8's, anyone in my local 8 club, or anyone here wanted one.

I'm in no rush for me to sell these, but as long as I've got 'em, they're available to whomever.

Interface included with each kit, compatible with BOSE and non-BOSE equipped RX-8's

Last edited by rx8evo; 12-05-2008 at 06:42 PM. Reason: The interface that is included with each kit is Bose & non-Bose compatible

I wouldn't mind the double din kit.

Still thinking about it. I will let you know. If you sell it before I decide that's fine.

lol, Texak! If you want one, lmk

Here's a pic taken today of the boxed kits and the taillights that are still available (one clear, one smoked):

(In case some of you are wondering why there is the same Metra part #, but a pic of one with a single din and the other with a double din, it's because, Metra has a pic of each on both sides of the box.)

Bought from Eric, Regional Sales Rep for Metra. Call him up if you like at 1-800-221-0932. Just because I'm selling these at a low price doesn't mean that they fell off a truck, unless you were kidding of course- I bought extras for other RX-8 owners, since I had to wait so long for my last shipment, and with the amount of responses I had for the used single din kit I was selling, I thought I'd order more in quantity to keep costs down for a few other fellow RX-8 owners, including myself who needed a double din kit, so by selling the other 3, I'm saving money for myself in the process.

Got a member here depositing funds for the driver's side one in just a bit, so in a way, it's good that I didn't smoke them both, since I'm selling them individually, but thanks for the compliments on the smoke job.

Now does anyone need a passenger side tail light that's smoked?! lol :D

The kit's Access interface allows you to still control all of your HVAC funtions still.

Here's a copy/paste from the other dash kit thread that may answer some of your and other's questions:

Some Q & A's for anyone sitting on the fence or just have more questions about installing this kit:

Q: What does Single Din mean?

* Single Din is a size that aftermarket radio manufacturers measure the size of the radio. 99% of all aftermarket radios are Single or Double din in size, the majority being Single Din.

Q: Will installing this on my vehicle void my cars warranty?

* No, it is illegal to void a warranty on a car because you are installing an aftermarket device. Please know your rights before letting anyone tell you any different.

Q: Do I need an antenna adapter for this installation?

* No you don't. The Mazda RX8 radio uses the standard Motorola antenna fitting (All aftermarket radio's use the standard Motorola antenna fitting). It will plug right into your aftermarket radio.

Q: I want to keep my steering wheel radio remote controls working; do you have an adapter to keep those working?

* Yes, you need an adapter. The PAC SWIX steering wheel adapter is available for purchase for around 70.00. The aftermarket radio must be infrared remote controllable for the steering wheel adapter to work.

Q: Can I get more details from the manufacturer on this dash kit?

* Yes. Click here or here for more detailed pics and information from the manufacturer.

Q: What if I have a factory BOSE system? Will it work with my BOSE amps and speakers?

* According to the manufacturer, YES. No additional adapter is required.

Normally, the Metra Axxess GMAMP-01 OEM Radio to Aftermaket Amplifier Harness is required for interfacing aftermarket radios to factory BOSE systems, however, I spoke with Billy in Metra's Tech dept. [1-800-221-0932] and he has confirmed that a BOSE interface is not required, and that the 997510 and 957510 RX-8 kits are designed to work seamlessly with BOSE and non-BOSE systems.

Q: What if I have a BOSE system, but want to use my own amplifiers and/or speakers?

* You can bypass the BOSE system by running your own amplifiers and/or speakers by connecting them directly to your aftermarket radio.

Q: You mentioned that you are missing the installation manual. Can I reprint or view one from the internet?

* Yes. The pdf link is here: http://integrationsolutions.net/EBAY...510_manual.pdf - If you don't have the ability to print this for some reason, a reprint of the installation manual can be included in the kit if requested.

Q: If I still have more questions about this kit, how do I get more information?

* You can call the manufacturer directly at 1-800-221-0932 or log on to www.metraonline.com

(and no im not new to the whole audio/amp/speakers scene... i have a pretty good sense of knowledge as to whats going on in that department, just curious as to what exactly the double din comes with and how it works... (other than cosmetics)

I was totally kidding man, I actually helped get this kit to market so I'm happy people are using them, should be putting in mine soon, probably just the axxess parts though as my dash face is custom fit for my current radio. Good luck with the thread

The axxess interface that is included with the Metra RX-8 kit is impedence and gain matched for both BOSE and non-BOSE RX-8 systems. For more technical info, feel free to contact Billy (or anyone else if he is not available) in Metra's Tech dept. [1-800-221-0932]

No problem, I'm currnetly running arounnd with the oem radio still in the car, just disassembled and relocated, people who don't have to go that route have no idea how much of a Godsend this kit is, as your only other alternative is over 500 bucks and has a funky opening.

(I wish the oem's would go back to simpler times, having to rig your car or buy an expensive dashkit just for a different radio is lame.)
