Greyhound will ship large awkward items on the cheap. Quoted $68 to ship a front bumper cover from Vegas to Chicago. The catch is, they do not always have room, so you might have to wait a week or so for the item to get shipped. Max insured value is $300. So i would suggest using a 3rd party to insure packages over this value.
Hope this helps out those needing to part out big stuff.

Call them ahead of time. Bad experience here. First, about twice that price to ship a bumper from Florida to New York, then when I showed up, they were running optional hours, not open, in a really crappy section of town. I showed up at 10:00 am on a Tuesday.
They also had some really weird exclusions on car parts and damage.
There are brokers that will pick it up for you, that are only a few dollars more. That is what I will use if I need to do it again.

Shipped a hood via greyhound only cost me 60 bucks (about 2 years ago) I even went to my local body shop and they gave me a large Silverado hood box that I shipped it in. That in itself is worth it.

Yup! ... as soon as I find a buyer for my MSP replica that has already been fitted properly, I'm gonna stop by the local dealer's body shop for a box for it :-D
If you all have success with this, please share. My last attempt was a nightmare. Did not think about body shop for box, actually built a crate and took a day off work to deliver.
