I've been looking around, but the ones that were listed for sale recently seem not to be available anymore.

So I am looking for the spare tire that came in some RX-8s as an option from factory. I mostly need just the spare tire - since I just intend to only put it in the trunk when I go for long trips. But would consider buying the whole thing with the mounting kit/hardware if available.

That kit that comes up on ebay is just for the brackets and way overpriced IMO. Hope to find something here instead.

If it doesn't work out with silvermax, let me know, I have a kit that spent about a day in the trunk before it started taking up space in the garage, have the tire, cover, mounting bar and brackets just taking up space.

If you are still looking for a spare I have one never used with the tire cover (no mounting brackets) I just kept it in my trunk for long trips. Let me know.
