Those numbers are from the original training material from Mazda when the RX-8 first came out....it reflects the correct numbers for the engine at introduction before they derated it a bit because of emissions(didn't have a current spec chart, sorry). But it is a good representation of what the engine is capable of with an aftermarket fuel/spark control and stock manifold for intake and exhaust.

it will not come close to that you say without the other two ports. and you cannot just add them..

RX-7 racer, please do more research on what you intend to sell on here because it will help you and us out in the long run

swoope, thanks for putting it politely to him

Sorry guys, but this info is straight from Mazda, I worked with their engineers directly on a Renesis marinization project for work, so yes this information is correct, unless their engine development group was somehow misinformed.

Keep in mind it is flywheel, not rearwheel numbers.

Rx-7racer 04-23-2008 07:36 AM

Oh yeah, it is stated in Newton Meters, not foot lb's of torque as well. That could add to the confusion.

TeamRX8 04-23-2008 07:42 AM

it's the gray dyno plot curve, not the red one ....

swoope 04-24-2008 01:25 AM

i cant swear, but i as you are in va. the likely hood of you having a motor that has anything to do with a jdm dyno anything is slim to none.

the jdm market had a std power 5 sp manual. that has nothing to do with your 4 port..

I never said it was a JDM engine. It is an american market 4 port automatic engine that I worked with Mazda NA on in a boat marinization project. The project never moved forward due to lack of low end torque. The dyno chart was supplied to me from Mazda NA directly from the engine development dept in Japan.

222nm = 163.73 ft/lbs

thats maybe what the 6 port "high power" engine gets. not the 4 port. but, its more likely the 216nm (159ft/lbs) is what the "high power" gets in reality.

http://www.dragtimes.com/images_dyno...-RX-8-Dyno.jpg

thats what a wheel dyno looks like for a stock rx8.

if you calculate it out, the renesis gets ~215fhp.

ok,

then find #s for a 4 port motor.. and post them.. what your are doing is very well. not very upfront..
