Yes and no. I had my cat replaced under warranty from Mazda. When they finished I took the car home at started to put my mid-pipe back in. With great difficulty I finally managed to get the o2 sensor out of the cat. Then I realized that they totally cross threaded the sensor.
At that point I didn't have another option so I somewhat managed to thread it into the mid-pipe which has a clean thread, put some silicon around it and called it a day.
Fast forward a few weeks, I was getting onto the highway on my way to work redlining the car in second gear. When I went to shift I hear a big backfire and the car started droning like crazy, I though I lost half the exhaust.
When I got to work and looked under the car I saw that the o2 sensor shot out of the hole, and had been dragged behind the car for about 20km, so its no longer operational.
Since then I just disconnected it and plugged the hole with a bolt, but I have my emissions test coming up soon and need one for my cat.
