Random parts
Category: Accessories
Price: $1
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): Series I
Location (US State/Canada/Int): NC
Item Condition: Used
Looking for the following parts in good condition:
- AEM Intake (not looking to make power with this, just want to remove some weight and clear out room in the engine bay)
- Stock low-mileage shifter. (mine has 100K miles and is worn out, I have an aftermarket one, but it puts a lot of noise into the cabin)
- lightweight aftermarket wheels 17 or 18 x 9 or 10
- Wilwood front brake calipers
- Ground Control type sleeves to fit over Koni Double adjustable shocks
- non-cracked passenger side dash

Please don't do the coil sleeve thing. No good manufacturer makes a set for the 8 (or at all?) and you don't want what other manufacturers make. Get a proper suspension or keep it stock, you'll go faster.
I have an original shifter (without the ****) I could let go, but the noise issue could just be missing padding in the shift boot?

I’ve swapped the stock sloppy shifter back and forth with the aftermarket shifter that came with the car, and the noise follows the aftermarket shifter. How much are you asking for your stock shifter?

Ground Control skipped the RX8 and NC Miata for some reason.
Which Konis are they? If it's the basic adjustable Yellows, they're fine but without a matched spring you're not going to get great results. You could do Eibach springs, they used to come as a combo. But all this is still OEM+ territory not race material.
Shifter - I dunno 40+ shipping? Where are you?

So I verified that Koni was offering sleeved kits with 42mm ID and 50mm ID for their shocks out of the Koni Motorsport catalog I have from 2017. It would likely be best to call Koni NA in Kentucky and ask them about it and if they still offer them. The go-to guy there used to be Lee Grimes, but I think he was promoted into upper management. You could still ask though.
edit: it's online now it seems

Are you thinking the Koni's can't handle the higher forces? (Admittedly, I'm more of a monotube fan, but wanted to use these since they are on the car already)

12mm is what I recall, but not 100% sure. There may be enough sticking out from the top on the front shocks to measure.
it just depends on what spring rates you run.
ps: threaded sleeve comments vs Koni offering them for sale directly 🤔
