I just took apart the Pettit Racing built engine from my Rx8. The car was built by Pettit and also had their supercharger kit on it.
The engine was built to be better for boost. The engine used Rx7 Rew engine rotors to lower the compression ratio and also use the much stronger / taller rew apex seals.
In order to run these rotors in the engine they had to custom machine new grooves into the sides to accept the 3rd Rx8 oil scraper ring.
The sides of the rotors were also machined to lighten them and add more clearance.
The full rotating assembly was then balanced.

The engine also has Pettit Racing porting done to the irons.


REW rotors with aftermarket apex seals / all other seals / machined / includes counterweights / eccentric shaft etc (Full rotating assembly) - $950


Rx8 engine irons ported by Pettit Racing ( All 3 irons ) - $500

interested with the rew rotor, is it still available? I wonder why it's being on sale, I thought it's good for boosted rene?

ah, since we got team here, what do you think of this rotor combination with renesis team? is it really necessary & helps with the reliability when boosted?
