Could be very interested in the SC. For that cash investment I want to do a little research first. Why is it not realistic to install on your car right now? Outside of the kit, COBB and boost gauge, what else would I need for a proper install? How does the SC get oiled? From the main oil resevoir or does the kit include a separate source? What are the gains from this kit?
I am more familiar with the Pettit SC so I will look into the Hymee myself as well but any info you can add would help make my decision.

It is not realistic due to the fact I'm in debt, and have been in a 3 year relationship with a wonderful girl that I do NOT see ending any time soon. She's going to school for two years, and when that is over I plan to move out and get married. Living with my parents now, and right now, the RX-8 (let alone a boosted one) would be a huge hindrance to any hopes of me saving to move out on my own.

Originally, Hymee was going to allow the blower to be oiled directly from the engine oil supply. HOWEVER. This caused an issue, only because the renesis has oil temps higher than standard vehicles, so the oil sealing o-rings were expanding, causing a small leak. He has sent a shipment with a separate oil feed and a plug for the engine oil feed.
As for the gains, no one has confirmed anything.
The Hymee uses a 2.1 litre blower, whereas the Pettit was a 1.7 I believe. It's belt driven, but supposedly has less belt slippage than the Pettit, not sure why, I don't have a huge technical library of info about it in my mind, as it took three years to actually receive it completely from Hymee.
I do believe that the gains will be similar, but the potential may be greater with a larger blower, if you get a smaller belt/pully. Nothing confirmed about that, just based upon opinion.

Thanks for getting back to me dude. I have the funds but I REALLY want to know what I am getting into if I were to pick this up. I'll pm you my email address. If you want to forward the hymee emails that would be huge for research. This may be a bit before I am ready to give up an offer but the wheels are turning and the conversation with the wife is definitely pending.

A lot of interest in the S/C.. Unless you have PM'ed me about it, I suggest you do so.
Bumper weighing is not going well, I thought I had the box that it was shipped to me in at home, but I don't. I'm taking some boxes and packing home from work to do a custom job tonight and will get it weighed at work tomorrow. I apologize for taking a while, something this large and fragile is hard to deal with!!

The least I can do is reply promptly! It's not like it takes forever to answer easy questions, and it's tough to be patient while you wait for product that someone else is handling. Been there, done that
