Starting a new thread to dump all of the info on my current build.
Will be adding alot of pics and info for anyone looking to do an rew swap.

Just got running about a month ago so still have alot to do to clean the car up.
Going to redo the piping and may redo the intake manifold as well. Ceramic coat the hotside parts, wire tuck / may shave and paint the bay, transmission swap, diff upgrade, axles, cage, may wide body for more rubber etc..

Retained ABS and Power steering.
I haven't tested the TCS or DSC yet, If they are controlled by the Rx8's throttle body via the Rx8 ecu then I wont have either, but if the TCS is controlled by the braking system then it is possible.. Since im running a Haltech and an aftermarket throttle body with a cable the ecu cant control throttle anymore which also means no cruise control ..

- Rew front cover

- Wilson manifolds 90mm throttle body
- Haltech Platinum sport 1000

yomomspimp06 is correct this is a different chassis. I used this one because it didn't have a sunroof / was lighter then the other also only has 18k miles on it which I liked.

Its a Frankenstein motor, The best parts from s5 / gsl-se / rew were used.
I used the s5 water pump / main pulley / alternator pulley setup just had to hone out the alternator pulley to work on the rx8 alternator (puts out more volts then others). But I went with the s5 belt design because it doesn't have the slipping problem like the rew does from the water pump being run backwards and I also plan to run a Gilmer belt drive in the future.

Went into every gear didn't have any grinds up to 5000 rpm's however didn't exceed that in my testing. Is pulled now and can ship tomorrow. Can send pics upon request thanks.

The fit was great. Better then the Exoticspeed midpipe I had.

Yes will cause a cel code, there are ways to bandaid it though.

Drive-train: New engine has less then 500 miles on it. Still in break in process. Runs great has perfect compression. Hot heat. Has no hot start issues like a bad rotary engine would. This engine is ready for 100k + miles ! Transmission is in good shape and works as it should.

Tires: Has brand new tires with less then 500 miles on them.

Brakes: Brakes were replaced with the tires have less then 500 miles as well.


List of new parts performed a few hundred miles ago.
