good luck

the old SSR Comp Type C 18x8 wheel was about the same weight; 16 lbs or so.

Thanks. If I can't find a set of the Mazdaspeeds, I'll get some TE37s. I just like the way 5 spokes looks better than 6.

There was a regular set of gold MS01's posted to 7club a few weeks ago; not sure if they sold or what happened to them.

I've personally never seen the MS01 MAG for sale, so I bet there'll be some competition if they do. If you don't 'need' a MS wheel set, there're definitely used jdm MAG options available depending on desired specs + budget.

Also, maybe consider the ADVAN GT as a potential 5 spoke wheel?

Hope this helped and GL!

latest offer from Mazda Motorsports, this is not a standard size in this ZE40 model from Rays, intended for the FD3 RX7 but a direct bolt-on for the RX8 though wider/heavier. You’ll have to join, but don’t need to submit any race results since these are Motorsports parts they can sell directly to the public. Race results are only required to purchase Mazda OE parts:

Wheel specs:
  • 18”x10”
  • +50mm offset
  • 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern
  • 19 lb
  • Hub bore 67.1mm (hub-centric fitment for the FD)
  • Face – 2 design clears big brake kits (Brembo & AP)

you might look into that 17”x8” Hart wheel too, though I’m not sure which specific model it is.

The Advance GT is pretty similar looking. Thanks for the tip!

Happen to have a link to the 7club post? It didn't cross my mind to check there, but I'll create an account and put up a wanted ad.

the only ones I see; Qty. three 17x7.5, which I’m sure you can discern why he’s probably selling them … 🤔

I have a set in grey I’ll be listing mid to late 2023. Have to get my replacement wheels prior to selling since they are in use. I also wanted to get my money out of the tires that are practically new. So need to wear those down as well. They will come with a brand new in box, mazdaspeed center caps and mazdaspeed lug nuts. The lug nut tool as well. Might have a new in box of that as well. It’s just a reducer to go from the oem size down to 17 or 19mm..

I’ll be sure to ping you if you’d not found any by then.

this is likely the set Paul was probably speaking of, didn’t come up in the previous search because they were already sold; 18x8 Gold, but +40et

https://www.rx7club.com/market/1159726

there was also a set of staggered 17x8/9 that sold several days ago as well

Yep, Team found it. Guess they sold quick. It was a really good deal imo.

I'll keep an eye out for you.

I'm not in a hurry, and am definitely interested. What tires do you have on them now? What replacement wheels will you go with?

I have pilot sport 4S tires on them atm. Wheels that I’m replacing them with I’m actually keeping that private till my build / vision is complete.

edit:
My wheels have bounced around between my R3 and GT the last few years. But are now the current wheels on my GT which is my daily. One wheel was bent due to hitting a metal pipe on a road trip in December of 2021. Had a full blow out. Was advised that it can’t really be fixed due to risk of cracking the wheel. However.. these things are strong and the bend was minimal.. the wheel was able to be balanced and it works fine. So I personally would replace the one wheel if you want a100% perfect setup. Second issue is just overall condition.. I suspect I’m the 3rd or 4th owner of these wheels. Their serial info show they were made in 2006. I’d love to have them repainted and cleaned up to look brand new. However I would lose the Mazdaspeed decals on the rims.. and until I have a solution for that.. they will look a bit rough unfortunately. They are strong lightweight wheels. If you find a set that’s in good condition. Jump on them quickly.

pics of my GT and the wheels.

Some shots of a set I currently have mounted on my ABM R3...... can dig up a pic of them mounted on the 8 if you'd like. In the event I decide to sell, I'll let you know first

Look really good. Not much clearance on the brake calipers, though. Makes me think it pretty unlikely they’d fit over my Wilwoods.

Also, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an R3 in that color before.

Way more clearance than when I run 17x9 RPF1’s. I suspect they would clear, it would just be a tight fit.

Re: r3 color, it’s a Canadian import, metropolitan grey.. same as you’d see on a s1 40th anniversary.

Pretty clean set on eBay, but damn that's a lot of money for 10 year old used wheels.

Well they are great wheels.. super strong. Part of these are nostalgia.. but then also finding a clean set is getting harder and harder. Those look really nice btw. Maybe shoot them a message and offer 2k, see if they bite. You might get them for $2500.
