I have OE Mazda rotors freshly machined for sport suspension(bigger brake) equipped RX-8s.

The front "hubs" are re-coated high temp black. Minimum thickness is 22.0mm. I use a brake hone tool to give brake pads a more un-directional brake-in surface. The result is great bed-in with lowered noise.









The rears have the same raw finish. Instead I coated them with Squeal Medic made by gunk. It's really used to eliminate squealing after machining. However it doubles by providing a powdery coat to prevent rust. I did not re-paint the "hubs" on the rears due to the Squeal medic being applied. Rear minimum thickness is 17.00mm.
