Prodrive recommends 8.5"+34 for front and 9.5"+44 for rear. So 7.5"+44 won't give you the biggest footprint on the RX-8 and would in fact look like the wheel is sitting too deep into the RX-8's wheel well. Add that to what sandman pointed out and it would seem that this set of rims would be better suited to some other car and not so much the RX-8.
