How did the car run with it installed? Could you tell an increase in performance? How about mileage, any improvement at all?

 

It was installed when I bought the car, so I cannot give comparisons as to what the OEM intake acts like compared to this one. The car is running perfectly fine if that helps. It sure does make a nice 'intake' sound lol but like said, I have not had OEM on the car so cannot give direct comparison

Had it, it's louder and gives a little extra oomph when you step on the gas, a couple HP increase at best. Mileage won't change, read up on the stock airbox and you'll see why. Mazda did the most they could with the stock one. That being said, it's worth it if you guys wanna trade your OEM with the seller. Frees up some space in that crowded engine bay, plus it looks pretty sweet. Just remember it takes the K&N oil/cleaning kit/whatever it's called, so you have to buy that on occasion to keep it running like it's supposed to. Hopefully that clears up some of the doubt.
