Today I decided that I wanted to go FI with my 8. Instead of buying a kit, I thought it'd be a lot more cost efficient and fun to mostly just piece it together myself! Right now I have nothing, so I need everything! ducting, IC, exhaust mani, oil lines, turbo, blah blah blah. So let me know what you have!

I'll also start a build thread if anyone wants to follow, but for now let me buy your things!

 

even a new "kit" will have to be motified so why not start with a used kit?

what location of turbo? low, top, rear mount (where the muffler goes)?

what tuning?

not to sound like im flaming you but have you researched this until your eyes bled? whats your budget? do you have experience in going fi on an na car?

A used kit could work as well. My budget could range from 2000-3000. However, I'm not made of money so I can't go too crazy.

Anyway, I'm in the process of reading turbo build threads until my eyes bleed. I'm reading 9krpmrx8's build thread as we speak. And I am doing a top mount and tuning would more than likely be with a Cobb AP.

As far as ever doing FI on a car, I've never done it before by myself. I've done just about everything else. I'm pretty intuitive when it comes to cars so I'm confident I'll figure it out along with all the knowledge on here.

 

not trying to crush your dreams but 2-3k will buy you a used kit but is no where near what you need to do it right. you will probably need to add 4-5k to that

lots of supporting mods are highly recommended

600-cobb+tuning

600-cooling upgrades

600+ in gauges

just to name a few, not to mention new couplers, v bands, possible turbo rebuild, shield for omp, ect
