I'm selling the turbo kit because I just had my baby son last month and I'm thinking I could use the money for him. The turbo kit was bought from a fellow RX8 owner here in South Florida. I never got around to installing it on my car as I was finishing up buying some nice extra parts.
The Greddy turbo kit is in great condition with only 5k miles on it, the previous owner was the original owner and took great care of it. His rx8 was not daily driven and was used for weekend rides and car show purposes. He did things the right way on his rx8 and that's why I bought the kit from him. The install and de-install and tuning was done by Pettit racing and Japtrix here in South Florida. (He showed me the receipts) so it was professionally done. The Greddy turbo manifold and pipe have been professionally ceramic coated for heat purposes a nice touch not every one does, he paid $200 for this. The turbo has only been set to stock 5lbs boost, he never had a boost controller hooked up and advised me this kit is very reliable if it's kept this way.
Ok, let's talk about what the kit includes! When I bought the turbo kit it was complete minus the intercooler, he kept it for another project. The first thing I bought was a front intercooler with mounting brace the same size as the Greddy intercooler. Next thing I did was bring the Greddy turbo to my rotary mechanic to check it out. He advised me the turbo looks new with no shaft play and is good to go. What I really like about this kit is that it has the Cobb Acessport already with a tune from Japtrix. The previous owner paid $500 for the tune and map. You will not need to worry about the Greddy emanage and if you ever want to go back to stock it is very easy. He un-married the Cobb Acessport in front of me and showed me the final map tune on it for the turbo kit. He also advised his car was running real nice without any crazy idle or hesitation issues or cel light but when you got above 4-5 rpm you can really feel the power of the turbo kick in all the way to redline.
So let me tell you more about the kit, it has all the stock intercooler piping, couplers, bolts and even the gaskets ready to be installed. The couplers still look good but I was planning to get new ones when I did the install. There is one piece of the intercooler piping that to be cut for figment issues by the shop. They ran a coupler over the cut with no problems. I will show a picture for reference, so you can do the same or just reweld it together or buy a new piece of intercooler piping, very cheap. It already has an authentic Greddy type rs blow off valve on the piping so that's a plus. These are the extra parts I have bought brand new that will be included.
Cusco polished oil catch can (made in Japan)
Turbosmart anodized blue boost controller ( made in Australia)
Depo Racing digital boost gauge, led lights up red or super white to match the rx8 dash lights (made in Japan)
Single pod gauge, similar to the racing beat gauge but single instead of triple (matches the rx8 dash interior)
Install instructions from the Greddy website for you or your mechanic
So there it is, this is a complete Greddy turbo kit ready to be installed. There are pictures of everything so you know it's legit. I have been an rx8club member since 2003 and owned my rx8 since May 2003 and hope to keep her for another 10 years. I have not listed this kit on any other forums or Ebay or Craigslist because I want a fellow rx8 enthusiast to have it. The Greddy website is selling this kit for $5580 without all the extra parts I have, so this is a steal.
Finally, lets get to the price. I do not want to deal with lowballers or dreamers so I'm selling the kit for a very fair price. $2500 plus $300 shipping to any of the 48 states.
