This is the piece that often breaks in the rx8. It's the damper for the glove box that makes it open smoothly. This broke in my car and I never got a chance to replace it. The car is no longer with us.

TimH2..did you have trouble installing this? I recently purchased one from the dealer and it looks so simple, but I wasn't able to put on the damn thing lol. There is a screw behind that black piece that the damper attaches too, and I can't get to it.
