Hey anybody thinking about getting Megan's here's my quik review.

I Autocross, Drift, Drag, and do mountain runs. Also my car is a daily driver. I have the megans, and my opinion is these are the best bang for your buck. Forget about name brands, because sometimes thats all they are. These are great.

^Yes it is. Just jack up the car, take the wheel off. And there are two "gear" on the shock that you turn with a coilover wrench which is provided. I jacked up the front of my car, lowered the car an inch, only took about 30 minutes.

I'm +1 with that post. I have them on my car and though I haven't had a chance to compare with any other setups for the 8, I ran JIC coilovers on my MR-S and the damping on these is waaaaay better, both in comfort and in stability. DD is no problem and I feel confident autox would be no issue as well.

Not really the level of performance one would expect from lower "Name brands" like *cough*Apexi*cough*...I mean Megan... but they are a surprisingly good bang for the buck. It's a shame people give most of the Megan products a bad rep.

Indeed, there are 3 or so major Coilover suppliers for the market; Essentially same hardware rebranded. The problem is, however, coilovers are more than pure hardware, primary differenciating factor being valving. The Megans may, for the most part, have the same literal hardware as the Apex'i but this certainly does not mean they are equal in quality! Comparing two different brands on two entirely different designed chassis has no validity whatsoever; you would need to try both brands on the same car to have any argument (Megan Vs X has been done).

Also keep in mind Megan Racing is much more than coilovers. Try out some of there other products or search the web, perhaps you'll have a better understanding of their negative reputation. I personally prefer companies with a solid history rather than those formed in the last decade - the test of time for a reputation is the most honest tell. That said, it takes time to build a rep so its up for debate...

Megan Coilovers can certainly be considered a good product when it comes to price but remember, higher end japanese companies don't necessarily charge exuberant amounts for no reason (though they sometimes do ). Do you think Megan has gone through much R&D?...

IMO it comes down to what you can/cannot afford. Megan fills in the less expensive segment of the market and do so in a stand up manner.

Disclaimer: This is not a thread crap; Though I am also selling coilovers, I've linked other members to both topgear and my fs pages simultaneously. Both are different product and it is up to buyer discretion to decide what they'd prefer; GLWS and bump for you!

^I'm pretty sure they are both running 8k/6k. Anything stiffer than that is overkill for street tires...
